All about Internships
The main activity in the sixth and final semester of the degree programme is an internship in a company approved by the university, either in Austria or abroad. The duration of the internship is at least 15 weeks and provides a great opportunity for work experience, networking, and even permanent employment. Both the company and the students are supported by the BCi team to ensure that everyone involved gets most out of the internship experience.

When is the application deadline?
Application deadline is 15 June 2025 for EU citizens and nationals from the countries listed here. These candidates do not need a visa to enter and reside in Austria up to a given period (in most cases 3 months). Due to the necessary visa procedures, the application deadline for all other nationalities is 31 March 2025. Applications after these deadlines will be considered only for next year’s intake.

What is the tuition fee? (BBCi)
Tuition fee for EU/EEA/Swiss/UK citizens (Studiengebühr): € 363.36 per semester
Tuition fee for third-country citizens*: € 726.72 per semester
Mandatory student union fee (ÖH-Beitrag) for all students: € 24.70 per semester
*Please note that third-country citizens need to pay a one-time registration fee € 250, which is non-refundable. Your eligibility will be checked once payment has been received.
What are the admission requirements (BBCi)?
Secondary school leaving certificate and proficiency in English. Detailed information can be found in the Admissions section.
Which documents do I need to submit with the online application (BBCi)?
- A curriculum vitae (CV), including photograph
- Secondary school leaving certificate*
- School annual report (Jahreszeugnis) for the most recently completed year. If it is not issued in English or German, an official translation is required (no legalisation necessary)
- Proof of citizenship (for non-Austrian citizens: copy of valid passport)

Can I apply when I do not have my secondary school leaving certificate yet?
Yes, you can. After sending your online application you will be informed about the latest submission deadline.
Do I have to get my secondary school leaving certificate translated?
Yes, unless the certificate is in English or German, an official translation is required. Only certified translators can provide these.
Do I have to get my school leaving certificate legalised?
That depends on the issuing country. Please check with the respective authority or send an email to BCi Admissions Officer, Ms. Martina Warnung (ms.martina.warnung@fhwn.ac.at).
Where do I get my certificates legalised?
Each country has its own procedure for the legalisation of documents, and hence different authorities taking care of it. The place to start is usually the ministry of education in the diploma-issuing country.
When is the intake?
There is only one intake per year, in the last week of August.
How can I apply?
We only accept online applications submitted via our website.
Do I have to pay a registration fee when applying for the BBCi programme?
This depends on your citizenship. Third-country citizens (non-EU/EEA/Swiss) need to pay € 250 registration fee which is non-refundable. Your eligibility will be checked once payment has been received.
Do I have to travel to Wiener Neustadt to take the entrance examination at the Fachhochschule?
Applicants who are resident more than 1000 km from Wiener Neustadt may take their admission interviews via Video-Skype. In this case, prior to your Skype interview you must additionally provide us with the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), with a minimum score of 1200 points.
When do the entrance examinations take place?
From February to June.
When do I pay the tuition fee for the first semester?
Within two weeks after signing the student contract (by 15 July, at the latest).
Will all courses be held in English?
All courses in BCi are held and assessed in English.
English is not my first language. Is additional testing required to certify my competence in English (BBCi)?
No language certificate is required, but the candidate needs to prove his or her language proficiency (English C1 level) at the entrance examination.
