Open Lecture Aerospace Engineering

In aerodynamics, flow field analysis can be very challenging due to non-linear flow behavior. In this presentation the audience is guided through different analysis levels finally leading to the assessment of higher order flow fields in non-linear flow and their impact on aircraft configurations. The talk includes classic flow field analysis techniques, mode decomposition techniques, energy-based methods and will focus on analysis techniques which are directly derived from the first principles of fluid dynamics using classical differential and integral
operators, principal component analysis and mode decomposition.
