FAQs
The programme is described as "distance learning". Do I have to attend classes at the Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt as well?
Yes! On-site presence is mandatory for exams, workshops and hands-on experience usually two times per semester. Attendance is also mandatory for the workshop week in August.
Is the degree programme compatible with full-time employment and a family?
The programme is scheduled extra-occupationally. As a rule, online courses take place in the evening and are recorded as well, so that they can be accessed at any time. Thus, time for studying can be organised flexibly. Nevertheless, homework, term papers and exam preparation take a lot of time. With appropriate support from your family and/or your employer (e.g. a reduction of working hours), the workload is compatible with work and family.
Does the University of Applied Sciences take care of the visa for the attendance parts?
No, it is the sole responsibility of the student to make sure they have a visa, if necessary. The on-site presence dates are not sufficient for applicants to be eligible for a student visa. Please check with the Austrian embassy or consulate closest to your home for other visa opportunities and the respective requirements.
Attendance times will be announced with sufficient lead time for you to take care of your visa application.
Does the University of Applied Sciences cover the travel costs of the mandatory attendance parts?
No, the University of Applied Sciences does not reimburse any of your travel Costs.
Is there any accommodation available near the University of Applied Sciences?
There are several options of accommodation in the vicinity. We can offer you a list with corresponding links. Please contact us for further information.
