As part of the course Strategic Brand Management and Integrated Marketing Communication, our BCi students had the task to come up with product innovation ideas for the brand tetesept. The final presentations took place on the 2nd of December, where students presented their ideas in front of the Marketing Manager of Merz Consumer Care Austria Gmbh, Mag. Elmar Kratzer, and the Brand Manager Sonja Fritsch, MA.
All the teams did a great job bringing new life for a rather mature brand, but the winning team introduced a new product line - tetesept: ACTIVE. Their outstanding idea, creative implementation, as well as fit with the overall tetesept brand, convinced the judges and they were awarded first place.
L‘Oréal Brandstorm Campus Finals
Every year our students are motivated to participate in the international L’Oréal Brandstorm Competition. This year was no different. Six team presented their strategy for the 2017 challenge: DISRUPT MEN’S GROOMING WITH LIFE-CHANGING INNOVATION, at the Campus finals which took place on the 24th of November, at FHWN.
The judges consisted of Jasmin Buchta, Recruitment Manager at L’Oréal Austria, Amelie Wanke, Business Leader for Skincare L’Oréal Austria, Dr. Brigitte Bojkoszky, external lecturer, and Virginia Grögl, BCi Programme Associate. The judges were impressed by all hard efforts, analysis, and creative ideas, however only one team can represent our university - the winning team IMEX (M_BCi students Jana Schvarczová, Hana Yelistratova, and Elena Wetzel).
We congratulate the team IMEX and wish them all the best for their performance at the national finals!
Opening Event 2016
This year students from 34 different countries started the BCi Bachelor and Master’s programme, which shows how international the programme is. Our Opening Event took place on the 2nd of September, where students had the chance to mingle and get to know each other. During the parade of nations, they presented the main national customs and landmarks of their home country.

MBCi supports Licht für die Welt
MBCi Student Gets Creative to Increase Brand Awareness for Licht für die Welt
As part of their Applied Marketing Research course, our BCi Master students have investigated the brand awareness of Licht für die Welt, a non-profit organization that stands up for the rights of people with visual disabilities. With this, MBCi student Christel Gaño created a campaign video to increase people’s awareness of the organization. We congratulate her on the great results!

L‘Oréal Brandstorm National Finals 2016
The National Finals of the L’Oréal Brandstorm competition culminated on the 25th of May in Vienna. Team Storm, consisted of MBCi students Kamila Horakova from Slovakia, Olha Bondarenko from Ukraine, and Luis Recinos from Guatemala, represented the FH Wiener Neustadt.
Out of the 46 teams who participated in Austria they were one of the 6 teams who made it to the National Finals. They were tasked to conceptualize a digital marketing strategy for La Roche-Posay to target the 15-25 year old segment. Furthermore, they had to come up with an innovation that will address the next LRP generation.
Although Team Storm was not chosen to go to Paris, we are still very proud that they made it to the finals and did such a great job.
CAPSTONE PROJECT 2016
MBCi14 Students Shine as Junior Consultants in Capstone Projects
A lot of praise and applause from high-level business representatives was given last week at the Final Capstone Event to the MBCi14 master´s students for the professional consulting services provided in the Capstone projects.
Students from 16 nationalities with backgrounds in Marketing & Sales and Finance & Accounting, took on the role of junior consultants for one semester to work on exciting real-life business projects. In the course of the projects, students developed new market entry strategies, evaluated crowdfunding options in the UK, or identified possibilities to optimize sales channels.
The Capstone clients came from a broad range of industries and included innovative start-ups well as established, global companies. Recommendations were presented in detail to senior company representatives which provided an opportunity for students to build and nurture important business relationships.
In addition to the final reporting to the clients, students also had to demonstrate their ability to pitch their comprehensive projects in a short presentation. A jury then chose the 2016 Capstone winner - Team Siemens (Marek Plieštik, Ondrej Cap, Aliaksandra Harokhava, and Liubov Savchenko) for their project “Strategy Development for Increasing E-commerce Sales”.
The Capstone project is a compulsory course in the fourth semester of the FHWN Master´s Programme in Business Consultancy International. It was in cooperation with the Accent Gründerservice GmbH located in Lower Austria.

STUDY TRIP 2016
BCi GOES HONG KONG
As part of their 4th semester curriculum, 12 students of the Master-Program Business Consultancy International went on a 10-day study trip to Hong Kong in mid-March. Together with two BCi faculty members, FH-Prof. Robert Pichler and Dr. Karin Dobernig, they visited a total of 14 organizations, ranging from successful start-ups such as the digital marketing agency Fimmick or The CompareAsiaGroup, over globally operating businesses such as the advertising agency Leo Burnett, Raiffeisen Bank International, CK Hutchison and RedBull, to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, governmental institutions such as InvestHK as well as the renowned Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Throughout the trip, students gained insights into a culturally unfamiliar business environment, engaged in networking with high-level company and government representatives and immersed themselves in the vibrant, dynamic, and yet charming atmosphere of the city.

BCi GOES BERLIN
17 master students of Business Consultancy International programme visited 10 companies in Berlin from March 14 to 17, 2016. They did not only get the chance to visit big firms, but also immerse themselves into the growing start-up scene of the city. Bigger companies included Axel Springer, Deutsche Bank, SAP, Deutscher Sparkassen und Giroverband, and Berlin Börse, while the start-ups consisted of Remerge, Twago, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, as well as accelerator Start-up Bootcamp. The meetings involved insightful presentations, interactive discussions, and good networking opportunities.
Apart from the company visits, the students also had the opportunity to know more about the German culture, particularly the rich history of Berlin. One of the organized touristic activities was the visit to the German Bundestag. With Berlin’s diverse culture, laidback lifestyle, and iconic sights, the students definitely enjoyed the irresistible charm of the city.

Second Successful 'BCi Career Day' 2016
After last year’s successful evening, the second BCi Career Day took place on the 3rd of March 2016. The main goal of this exciting event is to support BCi students’ career choices and to provide them insights from today’s business world.
